Lesson # 8: “The Sixth Commandment – Practicing Godly Sex” p. 20-21.

Goal: To create an in-depth understanding of the Sixth Commandment and understand the spiritual dimension of marriage.


Begin with devotion, “How Do We Know the Bible is True?” from Christian Worldview for Children by Brannon Howse and prayer

            Purpose: To help students appreciate the remarkable nature of the Bible.

Go over quiz results  

Briefly go over Scripture questions due for today from Genesis 1:14 – 2:14

            Purpose: To familiarize youth with their Bibles and encourage them to feed

                        on the Word of God

Complete Bible study on the 6th Commandment together

            This is a thorough teaching on this topic which includes great Biblical


If there is time, complete exercise on the 6th Commandment from the back of the

            leaders guide

            Helps student identify qualities of a good marriage / also has very good

                        examples of what constitutes the life of a believer

Workbook:  Complete lesson #9 p. 22-23 entitled, “The Seventh Commandment – Protecting Your Neighbor’s Possessions.” Read each question carefully and answer to the best of your ability.

Memory Work: Review the books of the Old Testament from Nahum through Malachi.

Memorize the Seventh Commandment and the meaning [see purple box on pg. 22]

Scripture Assignment: Read Genesis 2:15 through Gen. 4:25 and write out the answers to the questions on the next page.

Where do you think Cain got his wife? (Just take an educated guess as you can’t get an answer in these verses)



What was the name of the son that Adam and Eve had after Cain and Abel?  What did Eve think was God’s reason for giving her and Adam another child?
